Jennifer H. Young, DCMy passion for my profession comes from people who are inspired to live and stay active throughout their entire lives. Nothing gives me more satisfaction and fulfillment than seeing someone enjoy life by doing the things he or she does without pain or injury. My personal mission goes beyond injury care, and I try to empower others to take action and responsibility for their health. I truly believe that humans were meant to be active. As a martial artist and personal trainer, I emphasize that exercise is just as important as having healthy bones and joints. These are the tools essential for balance in life when stress kicks in. We owe it to future generations to set an example that life goes beyond the television or the computer screen.

After 6 months of therapy and rehabilitation Dr. Del Mastro gained a new interest in learning as much as he could about injury rehabilitation as well as injury prevention so that he could help other athletes reach their potential. He believes it is important for both athletes and people in every day life to take care of their body not only when they have an injury but before pain begins so that they can maintain an active healthy lifestyle through education and injury prevention.

Lauren M. Hayden, L. AcLauren is a licensed acupuncturist and massage therapist originally from Mount Airy, Maryland. As a Chinese Zodiac calendar Metal Rooster, Lauren has a strong drive for knowledge and has always been a hard worker. Lauren has become quite passionate about two things in life: contemporary dance and Oriental medicine. In 2005, Lauren finished a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry and History as well as a minor in Dance from the University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC). Lauren also enjoyed working as a student athletic trainer with UMBC sports teams, in particular, women’s soccer, men’s lacrosse and baseball. A growing interest in alternative sports medicine led Lauren out to California to study traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). At Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in San Diego, Lauren completed a massage therapy program with an emphasis on Tui Na (Chinese massage). Following this, Lauren began practice as a massage therapist while finishing her Master’s in TCM at Five Branches University in San Jose, California. Lauren has also been studying dance for over 15 years and trained in more than ten different styles including classical ballet; Horton, Humphrey/Limon, and Cunningham technique; lyrical jazz, hip-hop, and funk fusion. She has seen and experienced first hand a dancer’s devotion to the art and knows that when injury or pain hits, there is no time too soon to get back on the dance floor. For this reason, Lauren is dedicated to providing an additional (natural and holistic) avenue for dance and sports injury prevention, management, and rehabilitation. Lauren’s hopes her combination of therapeutic massage; traditional Chinese medicine modalities such as Tui Na, acupuncture, and herbal medicine; as well as Qi Gong and yoga therapy can have an eye-opening affect on healthcare in the athletic community.
