Whiplash
Whiplash is an injury to the soft tissue of the neck that occurs when the head is suddenly jerked backwards. The most common cause of whiplash is an automobile accident, but is also common with contact sports such as hockey, football, and boxing. Chiropractic care can help with whiplash pain. Studies show that it seems to be the most effective in the first 3 months. Chiropractic care helps loosen stiff joints in the neck and loosens tight muscles. Chiropractic can be an effective treatment for all stages of whiplash.
When a
sudden accident or injury hurls your neck backward and
forward, your neck gets thrown out of balance. The
force can damage parts of your neck and reverse its
natural curve. This may even cause pain in your
shoulders, hands, arms, and low back. Sometimes symptoms
aren't felt until days, weeks or months after whiplash
has occurred.
